About Westa
Who We Are
Formed in the late 1970s, the Western Association of Travel Agencies began as a coalition of independent agencies determined to bring order, collaboration, and professional standards to what was then a fragmented and often chaotic travel industry.
Over time, that grassroots effort became Westa—a member-owned cooperative where agencies have real influence, control the budget, and share in the profits.
As more and more consortia have been bought, sold, or restructured to enrich outside investors, Westa has stayed true to its purpose: helping agencies grow stronger, earn more, and remain independent.
We believe in clarity over complexity, shared benefit over top-down control, and long-term relationships over short-term transactions. If you're looking for a reliable partner that puts your business first, Westa is built for you.
